Hora is a 24-hour planetary cycle that determines the dominance of each planet in every hour. Each day carries an energy, and Hora starts with the planet of that specific day and continues. It is mainly used to determine auspicious times for specific work to avoid hurdles and obstacles in daily life. In a nutshell, it is a map for everyday life to determine timings that can bring favourable or unfavourable results.

How to Calculate Hora?

Step 1: Observe the sunrise and sunset timings

Step 2: Calculate daytime hora. Divide sunrise and sunset timings by 12. It determines the exact timings each planet will rule.

Step 3: Calculate nighttime hora. Divide sunset and sunrise timings by 12. It determines the exact timings each planet rules.

Step 4: Determine the day and ruling planet. The hora will start from the ruling planet and then follow a sequential order stated below.

  1. Sun
  2. Venus
  3. Mercury
  4. Moon
  5. Saturn
  6. Jupiter
  7. Mars

Step 5: Allocate the slots according to the timings and identify the key events to take during daytime or nighttime hours.

For Example: Monday’s ruling planet is the Moon. The sunrise time is 5:35 A.M and sunset time is 6:23 P.M. The total time is 768 minutes. Divide it by 12, which comes to 64 minutes. So, every hora in the entire day would be of 64 minutes and would start from sunrise time and its ruling planet and follow the sequential error as stated above.
